Picea Omorika

Picea Omorika is a tree with a slender, upright trunk.The lower branches bend strongly, with the ends growing upwards again.This creates a graceful growth form.Due to its graceful shape and the fact that the tree is only about 4 m wide, it has now become one of the most popular Picea.The bark is thin and dark brown and flakes off in plates, the branches are brown.On the underside, the flat blunt needles have 2 white stripes that are clearly visible because of the bending of the branches.The needles on the twigs are pointed forward.The bright purple-red male inflorescences are particularly numerous.After flowering, numerous hanging cones follow, which are at first violet-purple but later turn glossy brown.Picea Omorika is sensitive to wind due to its superficial root growth.
