Nordmanniana

Abies Nordmanniana or Nordmann fir is a beautiful but large conifer with glossy dark green needles. 
The tree is often bought as a Christmas tree.
This hardy conifer eventually grows very tall and wide and is therefore only suitable for large gardens.
The Nordmann fir is a popular Christmas tree due to the fact that the needles barely fall out and feel softer and therefore do not sting, as is the case with the Picea Abies (the "normal" Christmas tree).
In addition, the branches are sturdy, so that they do not sag quickly under the weight of balls and lighting. 
However, there is the disadvantage that no resin comes out of the bark of the tree and therefore lacks the nice Christmas tree scent in the house.
Abies Nordmanniana does not grow quickly, especially in the first years. For this reason, the Nordmann fir is also a lot more expensive than many other varieties.
